Drive my Car
«Drive My Car» is a Japanese drama film by director Ryusuke Hamaguchi, based on the short story of the same name by Haruki Murakami. The film follows a stage actor named Yusuke Kafuku who, after the death of his wife, agrees to direct a production of «Uncle Vanya» in Hiroshima, as a driver drives him across the country.
The film explores themes of grief, identity, loneliness and human communication through the lens of a touching love story. If you enjoy contemplative and thoughtful films, «Drive My Car» is an excellent choice.
The Whale
«The Whale» is a dramatic film directed by Darren Aronofsky. The film is based on the true story of a sailor who was trapped in the nets of a whale for more than 24 hours.
The film is a meditation on the relationship between humans and nature, and how the quest for survival and connection can bring us together in times of crisis. It also features an outstanding performance by Brendan Fraser, who plays the trapped sailor.
